Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a program that helps NDIS plan holders live independently in the soothe of their own homes. This program assists with undefined tasks and household chores to allow participants to continue living independently.

The NDIS works with participants to determine the level of support required based on their disability-related needs and goals. SIL funding is allocated based on a person's support requirements, considering factors such as the level of assistance needed, the complexity of their disability, and the type of housing arrangement they prefer.

Supported Independent Living is best for those who need help with cooking and bathing, medication management, housework, or other daily tasks but do not require full-time nursing care. Supported Independent Living can help individuals remain in their homes and avoid moving into assisted living facilities or nursing homes.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is tailored to the needs of the individual, from living in a shared housing arrangement to full-time specialist support, including overnight care. At PCYC homecare, our focus is to support NDIS participants to live more independently, improve wellbeing, learn everyday skills, make friends, access and be a part of the community. It helps participants to receive assistance in all areas relative to health care and personal care to pursue their goals.
